We’ve all been there—overthinking what to post, holding back from launching, editing ourselves until there’s barely any of “us” left in the message.
But here’s the truth I want you to walk away with today:
👉 Humanness = Likeness.
When you show up as the real, raw, unapologetic version of yourself, that’s when people lean in. That’s when your dream clients recognize you. And that’s when your content starts to connect on a whole different level.
It’s not about hacks. It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about being human.
The Power of Being Human
People connect with people—not logos, not graphics, not picture-perfect posts.
When you let your audience see the human side of you—the struggles, the stories, the messy middle—they don’t see weakness. They see themselves in you.
And that’s what creates trust. That’s what creates likeness. That’s what creates loyalty.
Client Story #1: The Podcast Launch
One of my mastermind clients had been sitting on her podcast idea for years. She wanted to share her story around mental health—her experiences with depression, antidepressants, and the personal struggles that shaped her.
But fear held her back. Fear of judgment. Fear of failure. Fear of saying too much.
Finally, she decided to launch. She felt the fear and did it anyway.
Her results?
- Over 200 downloads in her first day (which is incredible for a brand-new podcast).
- Strangers—online and in real life—reaching out to say her story mattered.
- Engagement and conversations like never before.
Her words to me? “Why did I wait so long?”
Because when she finally showed up as the human behind the brand, her audience met her with open arms.
Client Story #2: The Car Rant
Another mastermind client had a totally different experience, but the lesson was the same.
She was sitting in her car, no makeup, no script, just feeling fiery about something. She hit record and went on a passionate rant about the coaching industry—and why people should only hire coaches who have actually done the work they’re teaching.
It was raw. It was bold. It was real.
And it ended up being one of her best-performing reels ever. Her DMs blew up. Her comments were filled with engagement.
Because once again: human > polished.
Why This Works
Authority without humanity feels cold. Humanity without authority feels ungrounded. But when you combine the two—you become unforgettable.
Being human doesn’t mean oversharing. It means showing the right glimpses of your story, your thoughts, and your experiences that connect your authority with your audience’s reality.
Know Exactly Who You’re Speaking To
Here’s the other piece: your authenticity has to land with the right people.
You need to know exactly who your dream clients are, what they want, and how they think—so your message pulls them closer instead of pushing them away.
I was recently listening to my mentor, Allie Reeves, talk about this on her podcast, and she gave some powerful examples:
- In network marketing, people sometimes get defensive about their business model and compare it to corporate. But if your ideal clients are corporate women—you’re actually repelling the very people you want to attract.
- In coaching, someone raises their prices, gets backlash, and then creates content defending that choice. But your ideal, high-level clients don’t need convincing. By defending yourself, you’re speaking to the wrong audience and potentially turning away the right one.
So yes—be human. Yes—be raw and real. But do it with clarity. Align your authenticity with your ideal clients’ desires, and your message will land every single time.
The Bottom Line
If you take anything away from this, let it be this:
✨ The more human you are, the more your dream clients will find you.
✨ Humanist = likeness.
✨ Real = relatable.
✨ Bold = magnetic.
Stop waiting for perfect. Stop hiding behind fear. Your people are waiting for you—not the filtered, polished, watered-down version. The real you.
